Serving as Director of Education and Training for Cliff’s Local Market, Jeff is a C-store veteran with a background that serves his role well.
Getting started in the industry, Carpenter joined the well-known Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes team, after graduating high school in 2005. He continued to work while earning both his Bachelor’s in biology and Master’s in 7-12 adolescent education at Syracuse University. Carpenter went on to teach publicly at a high-ranking ‘Newsweek School’ while still working with Nice N Easy, but after two years found his niche as Director of Education and Training with the well-known c-store brand.
During Carpenter’s time at Nice N Easy he grew into the role of Senior Director of Program Development overseeing human resources and training. Nice N Easy was acquired by CST Brands in 2014 and Carpenter continued a similar role with the training and development team. When CST was acquired in 2017, he sustained his employment as Training Manager in the Great Lakes Business Unit of Circle K. Upon an opportunity to apply his expertise and remain local with Cliff’s Local Market in 2018, Carpenter gladly accepted a senior position where he has helped evolve the NY-based chain with 400 employees.
As a natural leader with a passion for his community, Jeff has also served as a Trustee in his local area for many years and today serves as Deputy Mayor.
Carpenter grew up with his parents owning and operating two convenience stores, where he developed his passion for working with people. He met his wife, Emily, working together at Nice N Easy – she also works locally as an educator, pursuing administration and together they share a growing family.
